Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo, born on 20 February 2003 is an American actor and singer-songwriter. Her roles as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' leading lady earned her fame in the latter half of 2010. Rodrigo became a household name following her joining Interscope Records and Geffen Records in 2020. Her debut single "Drivers License" broke several records and was named as one of the top-selling songs in 2021. The single was followed by the hits "Deja Vu", "Good 4 U" and "Good 4 U" before she released her first solo studio album, Sour (2021), that received both critical and commercial success and won three Grammy Awards. The documentary Olivia Rodrigo - Driving Home 2 U on Disney+, which chronicles the process of creating Sour, was also released in 2022. Rodrigo is the owner of two Billboard Hot 100 number one singles as well as a Billboard 200 number number-one album. She also has five multi-Platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. In addition to other accolades, she has won an American Music Award seven Billboard Music Awards as well four MTV Video Music Awards. Time declared her the 2021 Entertainer as well as Billboard named her the woman of the year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was the daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo, a school teacher and Chris Rodrigo, a family therapist. She was born at Rancho Springs Medical Center, Murrieta, California on February 20, 2003. [3][4][5][6] She lived and was raised in the nearby town of Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. [7] Rodrigo's father is Filipino and his mother hails from German and Irish descent. Her paternal great grandfather, Rodrigo, moved from the Philippines as a teenager to the United States. She also stated that her family is Filipino and adheres to Filipino cuisine and traditions. Rodrigo learned to sing in the kindergarten years. [12] She began taking singing and acting classes at age six and started performing in theatre productions in elementary school. [5][13] Rodrigo was playing guitar by the age of 12. [12] She was raised listening to alternative rock music from her parents, including Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Green Day, and the White Stripes. Rodrigo fell in love with writing songs after listening to country music, such as Taylor Swift. [14] After she got her Bizaardvark part, Rodrigo relocated to Los Angeles.
